The name Weiss is not a new name to Nevada County. From the family that has been growing and selling plants since 1973, comes a new branch. Partners Adam Weiss and Brian Coalson started Weiss Landscaping in 2007 with a new vision of craftsmanship and timeless designs for the industry. Behind the vision and key to their success are the following principals:
» Quality
» Reliability
» Integrity
» Knowledge
» Honesty
» Professionalism
» Communication
Weather you are installing a new landscape or maintaining an existing one, the right choice is Weiss Landscaping.
When the business plan for Weiss Landscaping was still being formed, Brian and I were discussing how we would set our selves apart in a very competitive industry. The answer was Quality, but a specific kind of quality we would later define as “timelessness”. You did not have to look far to find unlicensed and unprofessional activities. I would cringe at the lack of planning and design that could have been so easily avoided. The part of me that is an artist and understands the principals of color, line, form and texture was developing into our competitive edge. Together Brian and I began to sharpen and define the idea of timelessness in landscaping. Adding to the basic art principals of color, line, form and texture are: Proportion, scale, focalization, repetition, light and shadow, reflection, symmetry, and axial relationships. Knowledge of these elements alone is not going to generate a timeless landscape. It is the combination of these principals with, making a plan, the natural influence or spirit of the property, a harmony of building materials, and craftsmanship that make you say, “WOW!” when you see one of these rare landscapes.
