Principals Adam Weiss and Brian Coalson have a life long friendship that carried through highschool, college (Cal Poly SLO), and on into adulthood. It was only a matter of time before these two went into business together. A history of putting their heads together to make existing systems and practices better, now has them focusing on the landscaping and landscape maintenance industries. No matter what we are doing, we are always asking ourselves “how can we do this better?” or “How can we be more productive? We ask these questions because the answer means better service for our clients.

Growing up in the nursery family gave Adam early exposure to plants. “Most people don’t know that my dad had a landscaping business before he and his brother started Weiss Brothers Nursery. In fact, long after the nursery was established when I was 16, my very first maintenance account was one of his last landscaping projects. “I am proud of what my family has done for Nevada County and intend to stay the course,” Boasts Adam

Brian experience in construction ranges from working on the nicest homes in the community to building and selling his own spec. homes is a valuable asset. Brian uses his organizational skills to phases all our construction projects so that all phases of the construction projects are done in the right order. This efficacy means that our clients projects are competed on time and within budget.

Many landscapes need remodeling just as you would your home. Deer are one of the biggest problems in Western Nevada County. Many landscapes are ruined or just plain and boring because putting up a deer fence is just too expensive. Our clients benefit from our strong local knowledge base and construction experience. Nurseries are constantly coming up with new plant material. This means that we can add new plants that are both low maintenance and deer resistance to your landscaping, giving it a new feel.

Our goal right now with our maintenance division is to capture those people who have invested in their homes with a beautiful landscape and want to keep it that way. With our knowledgeable crew, we can do more than just the basics with each scheduled visit. Each client’s landscape is treated as our own, with a plan to improve it with each visit. “people choose us because they are able to see their landscaping mature into the dream garden it should be.” So, may be maintenance is the wrong word.

What else is in the future for Weiss Landscaping?

We are definitely excited about the future. We have taken on a third partner, Matt Melugin, who is helping us develop two more service based business’s. These business are Rain Tube, a revolutionary new gutter cover system that works like a French drian for your gutter. Rain Tube has already won the most prestigious green building award for its manufacturing process, recyclability, and that fact that it is also a stage one level filter for rain water collection. The other business is called life long homes(LLH). LLH works like scheduled maintenance for your home. With each quarterly service we are working through a 250 point inspection of all the interworkings of your home; most of which are taken for granted until they break. Basic level inspections and maintenance items are preformed by our competent service technicians. Larger projects/construction/problems are managed by LLH through a list of preferred contractors.
